Appearance

The wines are white and mostly dry. Their pale yellow color, sometimes golden with green highlights, presents a rare elegance.

Nose

These wines are distinguished by complex aromas of ripe fruit (apple, pear, quince), often accompanied by notes of honey, acacia, and sometimes tropical fruit such as pineapple. As they age, they develop notes of dried fruit, beeswax and mineral touches.

Palate

On the palate, Savennières Roche-aux-Moines wines are renowned for their richness and texture, often with a certain unctuousness balanced by a lively acidity that gives them great freshness. They have a marked minerality typical of schist terroirs.

Conservation

These wines have exceptional aging potential. They can be kept for decades, evolving towards more complex and refined flavors over time. The acid and mineral structure contributes to their longevity.

Location

This appellation alone covers just 7 hectares. Situated on very steep slopes overlooking the Loire, the vines grown from the Chenin grape variety have an average age of 35 to 40 years; the oldest, over 80 years old, provide the wood for new vines that carry the originality of the place.
