What are the emblematic wines of the Vallée du Loir?

This region is best known for its white wines made from Chenin Blanc, such as those from Jasnières and Coteaux du Loir, which have a lovely minerality. The reds and rosés, often made from Pineau d'Aunis, are distinguished by their lightness and spicy notes.

What makes Vallée du Loir wines so special?

Thanks to soils composed mainly of tuffeau stone and clay, the white wines develop great finesse and good ageing potential. As for the reds, their spicy, fresh profile makes them atypical wines, full of character.

What dishes go well with these wines?

The dry, mineral whites are perfect with fish and seafood, while the peppery reds go well with cold meats, white meats and lightly spiced dishes.
