Loire Wines

colours

White, red, rosé and fine bubbles, Loire wines come in all colours, offering a rich palette of aromas... From the crystalline hues of sparkling wines, the purple of tannic reds, to the light or intense pinks of rosés, the golden hues of whites and the deep golds of sweet wines: a colourful journey awaits you!

The whites

The white wines of the Loire

The white wines of the Loire are well known in France and far beyond. In fact, they are the most widely produced colour in the Loire vineyards. Made from a variety of grape varieties, they boast a diversity of unmistakable styles, distinguished by their freshness and fruitiness. Sweet whites, aromatic dry whites, fresh and elegant, rich and complex... This diversity is the result of the climatic and geological characteristics of each terroir, the different appellations and the work of each winemaker, all of which give each wine its own unique profile.

The reds

Red wines from the Loire

Loire red wines are appreciated for their suppleness and lightness. But here again, the range is wide! Light reds, of course, but you'll also find wines with character! More or less tannic and powerful, they have their own identity and reflect the diversity of the Loire terroirs. The great quality of Loire reds is that they are fruity, which gives them great balance on the palate.

Rosé wines

Rosé wines from the Loire

Fruity and floral at the same time, Loire rosé wines stand out for their fine balance between liveliness and softness. These dry, fresh, easy-drinking wines reveal gourmet notes on the palate. In the Loire, you can also find tender rosés. These are rosé wines with a slight sweetness, a special feature of the Loire! A range of rosés to suit everyone, from summer lunches to aperitifs and spicy dishes.

Fine bubbles

Sparkling wines from the Loire are ideal for both special occasions and special occasions. Whether white or rosé, the fine bubbles of the Loire are subtle and refined. Whether they're made from a single grape variety or a blend, sparkling wines can be enjoyed on a gourmet table or at a picnic, from aperitif to dessert.

50 shades of wine

Have you ever wondered where the colour of wine comes from?

There are a lot of preconceived ideas on this subject.
For a start, black grapes can produce white wine! It is the skin of the grape that gives red wine its colour. If the skin is removed before maceration, only the flesh is used... and the result is white wine.

Another widespread belief is that rosé wine is made from a mixture of red and white wine. In reality, it is made exclusively from black grapes. More often than not, it undergoes a vinification process identical to that of red wine, but stopped earlier.

In addition to grape varieties, other factors can influence the colour of wines, such as the production methods used and the natural properties associated with ageing.
