Our tour gives visitors an insight into our local specialities: our "Melon B dit Melon de Bourgogne" grape variety is unique in the world. It is grown on several different terroirs, as Muscadet is Europe's largest vineyard for dry white wines. The tour begins outside, with a look at the history of the château, which spans several construction periods: the Directoire period and the Italianate style typical of the 19th century. The tour continues in a vineyard plot to discover the grape variety and its terroirs. Finally, a tour of our historic cellars and the discovery of "sur lie" vinification, a term unique to Muscadets. During the tasting, you'll discover the typical characteristics of our wines. We specialize in high-end, terroir-driven wines with character. We're renowned for our traditional Muscadets, but also for our 20-year-old vintage wines and our crus communaux. This tour combines architectural heritage and wine, on the banks of the Maine River. Tours and tastings Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. by appointment, April 1 to October 31.
