General features
Historically, it has been widely planted for the production of dry white wines and brandy. In the Loire, it is often used in blends to add freshness and vivacity to wines.
Colombard produces light to medium-bodied white wines with moderate acidity. It is distinguished by its fruity and floral aromas, and is often appreciated for its ease of drinking young.

Colombard makes the leap from Armagnac to the fresh white wines of the Loire basin. Although better known in the southwest, it has ventured as far as the Loire to bring an exotic, fruity touch to certain white wines. You could almost say it's the ambassador of tropical flavors in the Loire!
