Origins

History

Touraine-Chenonceaux is inevitably linked to the eponymous château. Renowned the world over, Chenonceau evokes the idea of perfect harmony between nature, made up of water, air and greenery, and unique architecture. Here, the quest for quality is a constant concern. This new name offers a perfect match, a sincere alchemy between a land and an exceptional château. The Touraine-Chenonceaux wines deliver the "taste" of the place, between expertise and passion, offering a major axis for wine tourism development

Presentation

The Touraine Chenonceaux vineyard covers both banks of the Cher, in 25 communes in Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher. Concentrated on the upper slopes, it is characterized by "Perruche"-type clay-silica soils, flinty sands and calcareous soils.

Soil and climate

Parcels located on hillsides, with a slope favorable to natural drainage and a suitable landscape opening. They are mainly composed of limestone, flint clay and, in particular, perruches, the siliceous stones typical of Loire terroirs

Cultivation methods

Minimum density 5,500 plants/ha.

 Single Guyot pruning to 9 free eyes, or short pruning.
