Orbois

Touraine

Orbois, also known as Menu Pineau, is an ancient white grape variety native to Loire.

General features

It is grown mainly in the Touraine and Vouvray regions. Although often used in blends with Chenin Blanc to add structure and acidity, Orbois can also be vinified on its own to produce dry white wines.

Orbois produces dry white wines with good acidity and light to medium structure. It is appreciated for its ability to add freshness and liveliness to blends, while bringing fruity and floral aromas.

Did you know?

Orbois, or "Menu Pineau", is the grape variety of the Coteaux du Vendômois. Rare and often overlooked, it often plays a supporting role in blends, but its ability to bring freshness and acidity makes it an indispensable partner. In the Loire, it prefers discretion but also knows how to shine when needed!
