Domaine de la Paleine

Domaine de la Paleine, which has existed since at least the 18th century, lies at the foot of the Puy-Notre-Dame hill, where vines have been planted since the Middle Ages. The estate has been an organic winegrower since 2013, and then, in a bid to further the natural balance of the vines, a Biodynamic winegrower since 2017. Beneath the estate, 1.5 km of galleries have been dug into the Tuffeau rock. There, at 12°C, more than 100,000 bottles of wine quietly blossom, sheltered from the light. The Domaine produces wines for the Saumur-Puy-Notre-Dame appellation, of which it is a leading player, as well as for other Saumur appellations. The team, led by Jean-Louis Bernet, enthusiastically welcomes you to discover its wines and share in the daily life of a winemaker. At the Caveau de Montsoreau, opening times vary according to the season: - summer opening: Thursday to Monday, 11am to 7pm (6pm on Sundays),v - low season: open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm (6pm on Sundays).
